As Head of Resourcing and Talent, you will play a pivotal role in driving change, ensuring we attract, retain, and develop exceptional people who share our values. You’ll lead on strategic talent initiatives, optimise recruitment processes, and develop a future-focused approach to learning and development, all while ensuring Brandon Trust remains a leading employer in the care and not-for-profit sectors.


What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Talent Leadership

  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking Talent Strategy that integrates recruitment, learning, and development to align with Brandon’s long-term objectives.

  • Champion a data-driven approach to workforce planning, using insights to anticipate talent needs and shape decision-making.

  • Partner with senior leadership to enhance employer brand and EVP, ensuring Brandon is positioned as an employer of choice.

  • Drive transformative initiatives that improve recruitment outcomes and employee development.

Transforming Recruitment

  • Redefine Brandon’s recruitment strategy, embedding modern, inclusive, and efficient processes.

  • Maximise the potential of Tribepad and other recruitment technologies to improve candidate experience and efficiency.

  • Lead senior-level recruitment efforts, ensuring we attract top-tier talent.

  • Embed equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) across all talent acquisition initiatives.

Driving Learning & Development Excellence

  • Design and implement a Learning & Development strategy that fosters continuous growth and career progression.

  • Oversee the development of leadership programmes, equipping future leaders with the skills to drive Brandon’s mission.

  • Implement innovative training solutions that meet diverse workforce needs.

Shaping Career Pathways

  • Establish clear, structured career pathways and competency frameworks to support long-term employee growth.

  • Develop and expand early careers initiatives such as apprenticeships and graduate schemes.

  • Ensure sponsorship processes support workforce diversity and talent retention.

Enhancing the Employee Value Proposition (EVP)

  • Lead the development of a compelling EVP that resonates with both current and potential employees.

  • Work with internal and external communications teams to amplify our EVP and employer brand.

  • Ensure the EVP reflects our commitment to EDI, innovation, and a supportive work culture.

Leadership & Change Management

  • Play a key role in workforce transformation and change management initiatives across the organisation.

  • Lead and develop the Resourcing and L&D teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and performance.

  • Be a trusted adviser to senior leadership, providing expert insights on talent and workforce planning.

Governance, Analytics, and Data Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with legislation and best practice standards in recruitment and learning.

  • Implement and oversee robust data reporting systems to measure the impact of talent initiatives.

  • Drive continuous improvement through analytics and workforce insights.


What We’re Looking For

Education & Training

  • Professional qualification in HR, Recruitment, L&D, or related field (CIPD Level 5 or ideally Level 7) or equivalent strategic experience.

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and industry knowledge.

Experience & Achievements

  • Proven leadership in recruitment, learning, and development within a strategic role.

  • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering talent strategies that drive organisational success.

  • Experience leading large-scale change and transformation initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of HR technologies, recruitment platforms (e.g., Tribepad), and L&D systems.

  • Experience in values-driven or regulated sectors, ideally in care, not-for-profit, or public services.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to translate strategy into action and deliver impactful talent initiatives.

  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to use insights to inform decision-making.

  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, influencing at senior levels.

  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity, providing strategic solutions.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
