We’re hiring for Lead Support Workers in Westbury On Severn

Join Brandon as a Lead Support Worker, you’ll provide excellent day to day support to individuals with exceptionally complex needs supporting them to overcome barriers. Key to this role is respecting people’s preferences and choices and enable their fullest participation in the life of their community as valued citizens.
As part of a supportive team, you’ll have resilience to support individuals whose behaviour may be considered challenging. The support you’ll provide will be centred around each person’s values, preferences and needs which could include developing daily living skills, accessing a wider community, personal care and medication needs.

You will:
- Be a confident problem solver and creative thinker with good communication skills
- Resilience to overcome challenges
- Have a positive can-do attitude
- An innovative problem solver and are willing to try new activities
- Experience working with people with a learning disability including supporting people whose behaviour may be considered challenging is desirable
- Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Previous management experience is desirable but not essential
- Diploma in health a social care level 2 or equivalent – Level 3 is desirable
- Hold a full UK driving licence
Your responsibilities:
- Support the individuals in all aspects of their daily life, enabling their fullest participation in the life of their community
- Support people to achieve their personal outcomes
- Be assigned area(s) of lead responsibility; for example autism, personality disorder, speech and language, positive behaviour management, psychiatry or health.
- Liaising with external professionals and devising support plans and risk assessments relating to your lead area.
- Communicate this specialist knowledge to colleagues to produce a coherent and integrated package of support.
- In the future, you may line manage support workers.
